How Abilene Foundation Co. works
Who answers when you get in touch, and what to check before you sign anything.
Abilene Foundation Co. helps homeowners in Abilene and the Big Country get foundation problems surveyed and repaired. When you call or send a request, it goes to an independent local foundation repair contractor who serves the Abilene area and contacts you to schedule an elevation survey.
We don't measure, price or repair anything ourselves. That's also why you won't find star ratings, reviews, crew photos, warranties or years in business on this site. Those belong to the contractor, and we add them only once the contractor puts them in writing for us. Until then, ask the contractor directly.
Questions to ask before you sign
Fair questions for any foundation contractor, including the one you reach through this site.
Who does the work?
The company's own crew, or a subcontractor? The contract should name the company responsible for the job. That's who you call if something goes wrong later.
What exactly will be done?
How many piers or supports, what kind, and where they go. A sketch of the house with each one marked makes two bids easy to compare side by side.
How slab repair works →Do I need an engineer too?
A contractor's survey is not an engineer's report. If you want an independent opinion on why the house moved, in Texas only a licensed professional engineer can give it.
Contractor survey or engineer's report →Registered, and permitted?
The City of Abilene requires contractors to register with it, and its building FAQ lists repair among the work that needs a permit. You can check a registration on the city's MyGov site or by calling the city at 325-676-6273. Settle early whether you or the contractor applies for the permit.
What does the warranty cover?
Get it in writing: what it covers, for how long, what you have to do to keep it valid, and whether it passes to the next owner if you sell.
Will you measure again when it's done?
Readings taken after the repair record where the house ended up. Keep a copy, so any survey in later years has something to be compared against.

Questions about this site
Is Abilene Foundation Co. a foundation repair company?
No. Abilene Foundation Co. runs this website and passes your call or request to an independent foundation repair contractor who works in the Abilene area. The survey, the price and the repair all come from that contractor.
Does it cost anything to use this site?
No. Using this site costs you nothing. Any price for work comes from the contractor, and you decide whether to accept it.
Am I committed to anything after the survey?
No. Asking for a survey doesn't commit you to a repair. If you're given a written price, you can take your time, ask questions or get a second bid before you sign.
Who is responsible if there's a problem with the repair?
The contractor who signs the agreement with you. Their written terms and warranty are the ones that apply, so read them before work starts.
What happens to the details I send?
They go to the contractor so they can contact you about your request. The privacy page explains what is collected and how to have it deleted.
